A Japanese on the Acropolis

“Japan is a rich country but only artificially. We have a lot of debt and our politicians tend to hide the real problems.” Katsuya Hasegawa on Hellas Pindakaas – A Japanese on the Acropolis. On this very special intercontinental broadcast, we attempt to bring the people and culture of Greece and Japan together, in an effort to find common ground between East and West.

In Katsuya’s words, ” I wanted to live in another country, especially a Western country, where the history is totally opposite from Asia. I wanted to learn not only about the language and the culture, but also what they are thinking, how they think about life. In the West, people try to live by their own style. In Japan, we have to follow someone else’s idea, we have to conform to the established norms.”
