Greek team to participate in sailing championship for disabled athletes in the Netherlands

The  Hansa Class World & International Championships 2016 , a sailing event for disabled athletes, will be taking place in Medemblik between 3 – 9 June 2016.

What is worth mentioning is that for the first time a Greek team is going to participate.

The 5-member team that will represent Greece will travel to the Netherlands on the 30th of May and will return to Greece on the 10th of June, and consists of:

Despina Knithaki Mission Chief and Treasurer for the Sailability Hellas Group
Iakovos
Kikianis Coach Mission
Stratos Achlatis Athlete
Eirini Kourouvani Athlete
Lefteris Fokianos Athlete

However, the Greek team has faced some obstacles, since they cannot come up with the budget they need.

Τhe efforts to ensure the participation of the team are mainly private. They have already secured the amount of the registration of the athletes, the renting of special sailing boats, accomodation and they now need to secure some more, like the renting of an inflatable boat to accompany the athletes in training and races.
