Dijsselbloem: Pensions in Greece have been cut already significantly – how much lower can they go?

“Over the course of last month Greece has made little progress on reforms”, underlined Jeroen Dijsselbloem when he talked today in the Dutch parliament.

“The institutions’ work is still in progress, but in the last month the negotiations have been a little slow”, noted the head of the Eurogroup.

The Dutch Finance Ministry said that he expects the heads of the 4 institutions to return “soon” to Athens so that negotiations can be resumed.

Commenting on the issue of welfare policy, he said that there have been already many pension cuts. And he added: “The question is what can be done.”

Referring to the refugee crisis, he stressed that the problem exists but can not be taken into account in the negotiations for the evaluation of the program.
